๐ŸŽค Guest Interview Guide

Welcome to the Show — Here's Everything You Need to Know Before We Hit Record

First off, thank you for being a guest! I want you to feel confident, comfortable, and ready to shine. This guide will walk you through exactly what you need to prepare for our podcast interview — even if you're new to this whole podcasting thing.

๐Ÿ”ง Audio Setup

โœ… Use a Good Mic (If You Have One)

  • A USB mic (like Blue Yeti, Samson, or Rode) plugs directly into your computer and gives great sound.

  • No mic? Wired earbuds with a built-in mic are your next best bet. Try to avoid using your computer’s built-in microphone — it picks up a lot of background noise.

โœ… Wear Headphones

  • Any pair works! Headphones stop echo and feedback during our chat.

  • Earbuds are totally fine — just make sure they're wired or reliable.

โœ… Choose a Quiet Space

  • Pick a room with soft surfaces (like carpet or curtains) to reduce echo.

  • Turn off fans, TVs, or anything that makes background noise.

  • Let anyone nearby know you’ll be recording.

๐Ÿ’ป Tech & Connection

โœ… Use a Laptop or Computer

  • Desktop or laptop is best. Phones and tablets can work, but computers usually give better sound and control.

โœ… Strong Internet Connection

  • A wired (ethernet) connection is ideal.

  • If you’re on Wi-Fi, sit close to your router.

  • Avoid streaming or downloading during our call.

โœ… Close Unnecessary Apps

  • Shut down Zoom, email, Spotify, etc. to avoid interruptions and keep things running smoothly.

๐Ÿงช Test Your Setup

๐ŸŽ™ Mic Test (Quick & Easy!)

  • On a PC: Go to Settings > System > Sound and check your input levels as you speak.

  • On a Mac: Go to System Settings > Sound > Input and test your mic.

  • Record yourself using Voice Memos or Audacity to make sure your voice sounds clear and not too quiet.

๐ŸŽง Headphones Check

  • Plug them in and play a song or video — make sure the sound is coming through both sides.

  • If you're using wired earbuds with a mic, be sure the mic isn't rubbing against your clothes.

๐ŸŽฅ If We’re Recording Video

โœ… Lighting

  • Face a window or use a lamp to brighten your face.

  • Avoid sitting with your back to a window — it’ll make you look like a shadow.

โœ… Webcam Angle

  • Raise your camera to eye level (stack books under your laptop if needed).

  • Tidy your background or use a virtual background if you prefer.

๐Ÿ“ Final Prep

  • ๐Ÿ’ง Keep water nearby – podcasting can dry out your voice fast.

  • ๐Ÿ—’๏ธ Jot down key points or stories you want to share.

  • ๐Ÿง˜‍โ™€๏ธ Relax – this is a conversation, not a performance.

  • โœจ Be yourself – that’s why I invited you.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Come As You Are: This Podcast Is Real, Raw, and Relaxed

If you’ve been invited to join me on the podcast, I just want to say — thank you. Seriously.
It means a lot to me that you're willing to show up, speak from the heart, and share a piece of your story.

This podcast isn’t about being polished, perfect, or performing. It's not about fancy equipment, flawless words, or getting every sentence just right. It’s about real people, real conversations, and real connections.

Whether we’re talking about addiction, healing, motherhood, mental health, or the messy middle that nobody wants to talk about — this is a space where truth is welcome and judgment is left at the door.

You don’t have to be a pro. You don’t need to have the “right” answers. All I ask is that you show up as yourself.

So grab your coffee, find a quiet spot, and let’s just talk. Like old friends sitting across from each other on the porch.

I’m honored to hear your story — and someone out there needs to hear it, too.

Thank you for trusting me with your voice.
I promise to treat it with care.

    With gratitude,
    ๐Ÿ’› CeeCee
