Meet Missy — A Mother’s Strength in the Face of Addiction
On the upcoming episode of Wayward Addictions, we’re honored to introduce you to Missy, a remarkable woman whose story will speak straight to your heart.
Missy was born and raised in a holler in deep East Tennessee. She's a wife of over 30 years, a devoted mom to four beautiful children, and a proud Nanny to seven grandchildren. But Missy’s journey took a painful turn when her youngest son began battling addiction — a battle that’s been ongoing for over 15 years.
If you've ever walked alongside a loved one struggling with addiction, you know it’s not just their journey — it becomes the family’s fight, too. Missy knows that pain deeply. She’s felt the weight of judgment, fear, grief, anger, and helplessness. She’s also experienced the strength that rises from surviving it.
Today, Missy and her husband are raising their grandson due to their son’s addiction — joining the growing number of grandparents stepping back into parenthood out of love and necessity.
Missy is the creator and host of Wayward Addictions, a heartfelt platform where she shares her truth, connects with others walking similar roads, and reminds us all that no one should ever feel alone in this struggle.
